Giving that Roberto is originally from Guerrero, the state that specializes with coco recipes, we are lucky to have him in our staff. The coco loco is an alcoholic beverage usually prepared with rum, coconut milk. It gets its name, obviously, coconut, fruit used in its preparation, which is found in tropical areas. The coco loco is a cocktail that can be enjoyed almost anywhere in the Caribbean, each country has its own recipe, which always the rum is the based, in the case of Cabo Villas, the coco loco is prepared with tequila and rum, sugar syrup and pineapple juice.
The Recipe
- 1 fresh coconut
- 1 cup ice
- 1 oz white tequila
- 1 oz melon liqueur
- 1 oz coconut rum
- 1 oz pineapple juice
- 1 oz sugar syrup
- 1/2 lemon
Preparation
Make a tumbler out of the coconut by carefully slicing about 2 inches off the top of the coconut, keeping the coconut milk inside. Place the ice, tequila, melon liqueur, rum, pineapple juice, and sugar syrup into the cavity of the coconut. Squeeze the lime half over the mixture and drop the lime into the drink; stir.
The coco loco is an excellent fresh drink for enjoying anytime!!
